Repair and Redesign of Instruments - Igor Django Molnar
Instrument repair and maintenance are, we can confidently say, both an artistic and highly responsible profession. People who own musical instruments often feel the need to maintain, redesign, or restore them...
I received my first electric guitar when I was thirteen. Like any curious child, I was fascinated by how it was made, what the magnets looked like, how the neck came off, or how factory paint accepted other colors... So, by the time I was fourteen, I had nearly completely dismantled my first "Jolana" guitar. Later on, I began collecting parts from guitars that were damaged or disassembled. At sixteen, I started slowly filling up my first "garage." Over time, I came into contact with many instrument repairers, restoring old double basses and electric guitars mostly for my own needs. Eventually, I realized that this type of "hands-on work" was incredibly relaxing for me, and it slowly became a passion that has stayed with me to this day. For the past decade and a half, I have been involved in instrument repair, redesign, and setup, working to ensure they meet the minimum technical standards.
