Bass guitar lessons are conducted by Igor Django Molnar, who has decades of teaching experience in this field. With over two hundred students successfully completing all three levels of instruction, many have gone on to build successful professional music careers both in the country and abroad.Students are expected to be dedicated in their practice and to maintain their instruments in good technical condition. These lessons are designed for anyone who wants to learn to play the bass guitar at a professional standard.
The lessons are tailored to the students’ prior knowledge and interests and are organized into three levels.

The first level is designed for those who are already familiar with the bass guitar but do not yet know how to use it properly. This stage focuses on tone production, synchronization of the left and right hands, and mastering fundamental scales such as diatonic scales, pentatonic scales, blues scales, and their combinations.Special attention is given to developing bass lines and understanding their stylistic characteristics in genres like funk, rhythm and blues, rock, and ballads. Additionally, emphasis is placed on rhythmic styles, general rhythm concepts, and the essential stylistic features of bass lines in different forms of popular music. At this level, classical music literacy is not a priority. Instead, students learn chord symbols and basic rhythmic styles necessary for practical playing.

The second level is intended for bassists who have control over their instrument and are familiar with some of the most commonly used scales in pop and rock music but do not fully understand their application. This level is designed to enrich their musical and theoretical knowledge. Students will gain a deeper understanding of reading notation, harmonic symbols, and the relationships between harmonic structures, both functionally and outside traditional harmonic frameworks. A strong emphasis is placed on technical development and precision, quick adaptability to harmonic changes. Understanding the role of the bass line in more complex and developed compositions within pop, rock, and funk music. If a student demonstrates interest and achieves a satisfactory technical level, they can progress to the third level.

The third level focuses on advancing musical literacy and technical proficiency to a professional standard. Key areas of study include, advanced harmonic concepts (seventh chords, ninth chords, and scale extrapolation from chords, creating phrases in solos over both functional and non-functional harmonies, including modal and quartal-quintal harmony). Introduction to jazz, jazz-rock, and fusion, which require a high level of technical ability and strong interest in these genres. Mastery of a wide range of scales and their correct application in both comping and soloing. This level is designed for bassists looking to refine their skills, develop their improvisational abilities, and gain deeper insight into complex musical structures.
